Start your PACES prep with a plan!
Get free access to Module 1 of The PACES Academy, where I walk you through exactly how I would approach PACES revision from the start — what to focus on, how to structure your time, and how to avoid getting overwhelmed.
PACES can feel overwhelming...
There are clinical signs to learn, communication stations to practise, examination routines to polish, presentations to deliver, and endless resources telling you to revise everything.
But passing PACES is not just about knowing more.
It is about having a clear plan, practising properly, and knowing what the exam is really testing.
In this free first module, I walk you through how I would approach PACES revision if I were starting again.
You’ll learn how to think about the exam, how to structure your revision, where candidates commonly drop marks, and why your preparation needs to focus on knowledge, clinical skill and performance under pressure.

The Full Course:
In our first year I developed the PACES Academy Course - a comprehensive guide to PACES and how to approach the exam. I've only included the key things that matter for this exam! I focus on the common things likely to come up and give you my exact simple approach for each station!
Module 1 — How to Approach PACES
Start with the big picture: what PACES is really testing, how the exam works, how to plan your revision, and how to prepare with more structure and focus.
Module 2 — Exam Technique and the Mark Scheme
Understand how marks are awarded, where candidates commonly lose marks, and how to practise in a way that improves your performance on the day.
Module 3 — Clinical Examination Stations
Learn structured approaches to the major short-case stations, including cardiology, respiratory, abdominal and neurology examinations.
Module 4 — Presentation and Viva Technique
Practise presenting your findings clearly, building sensible differentials, and answering examiner questions with structure and confidence.
Module 5 — Consultation and Communication Stations
Learn how to structure conversations, explore patient concerns, explain clearly, manage risk, and close the station safely.
Module 6 — Exam Day and Final Preparation
Bring everything together: how to use the time before each station, stay calm under pressure, avoid common mistakes, and perform consistently on the day.

A Weekly Practice Case:
Each Monday, I'll upload a new downloadable consultation station into Module 7 of the course. You then have the whole week to attempt the case before our weekly catch up on Sunday. You can do this with a partner either in person or online. You'll get a candidate script, patient script and a mark scheme for each case. Once you've attempted the case with a friend, Sunday's debrief is a great way to come back to the topic and consolidate knowledge. We also know everyone is working different shifts and so this structure gives you time to practice with flexibility whilst also keeping you accountable each week!
A Live Weekly Session:
During our 10 week Diet Practice Block, you'll get a LIVE Practice session hosted by one of our amazing teachers or graduates. We will cover a teaching topic and you will get a chance to practice with one of our consultation or communication stations. We'll also do live Presentation Practice to consolidate some of the teaching from the course!
