What is the PACES Academy?
I set up the PACES Academy in 2025 to support candidates get through their PACES revision. In our first year we helped over 20 candidates including loads of IMGs from all over the world. I got great feedback but after a year, I realised it was all too complicated.
This year I am re launching our course and community under 1 simpler structure that still provides candidates with what they need - support, a clear strategy for PACES and an opportunity to practice.
All of this is now for even better value than before!

What is included?
Previously we had different tiers and products. Now you get all of those products and value all in 1 monthly subscription in our best value package yet!
The Course:
In our first year I developed the PACES Academy Course - a comprehensive guide to PACES and how to approach the exam. I've only included the key things that matter for this exam! I focus on the common things likely to come up and give you my exact simple approach for each station! (You can learn more about the modules of the course below our testimonials!)
A Weekly Practice Case:
Each Monday, I'll upload a new downloadable consultation station into Module 7 of the course. You then have the whole week to attempt the case before our weekly catch up on Sunday. You can do this with a partner either in person or online. You'll get a candidate script, patient script and a mark scheme for each case. Once you've attempted the case with a friend, Sunday's debrief is a great way to come back to the topic and consolidate knowledge. We also know everyone is working different shifts and so this structure gives you time to practice with flexibility whilst also keeping you accountable each week!
A Live Weekly Session:
During our 10 week Diet Practice Block, you'll get a LIVE Practice session hosted by one of our amazing teachers or graduates. We will cover a teaching topic and you will get a chance to practice with one of our consultation or communication stations. We'll also do live Presentation Practice to consolidate some of the teaching from the course!

Dr Luke, UK Graduate, Qualified GP (Passed 1st try!)
'The PACES academy was a great opportunity to meet like minded candidates and prepare together in a supportive environment. I found it difficult joining a hospital PACES group, so the PACES academy was a great substitution for this. The weekly check ins and FAQs were really helpful as well as the online videos - it allowed me to adopt a clear structure and approach and also made me aware of the expectations on examination day.'
The PACES Academy Course Structure
MODULE 1
PACES Introduction
I'll go through PACES Exam structure, and how to 'think' about this exam and revising for it. I build on the 'Detective' and the 'Ballerina', the different identities to adopt look at the mark scheme and think critically about how to maximise your marks! This is a strange exam - you must know what you are dealing with in order to be able to prepare properly!
MODULE 2
Dan's Approach Lectures (5 hours)
A comprehensive guide to every system and specialty. These talks are your MAP! I will show you how to 'think' about the short stations in a way that maximises diagnosing the PACES specific conditions! We look at which cases come up and cover the theory to help you 'think' like a PACES pro!
- Cardio, Abdo, Resp & Neuro (PNS & CNS)

Who teaches the course?
The PACES Academy was founded by me - (Dr Daniel Beese BMBS, MRCP) in 2025.
I sat PACES23 in September of 2023. At the time he was a locum, didn't have any educational supervision and felt the struggle of revising for PACES on your own. I felt there was a better way that PACES could be taught or revised!
I passed on my first attempt and started to teach PACES at my hospital as part of the St Georges PACES teaching programme that was running. The following year I organised the PACES teaching programme at St Georges (2024 - 2025).
Following on from this, I decided to found the PACES Academy, to reach other candidates and help more SHO's revising for PACES. In my time I've also taught on the BITE PACES and Intelligent PACES Courses ran out of St Barts Hospital, London.
Is The PACES Academy right for me?
If you’re preparing for PACES but feel like you don't know where to start, you're an IMG or you just want someone to talk it through with... then yes! We can help!
We cannot replace examining real patients, but the PACES Academy course and community can streamline your practice, consolidate your learning and refine your presentations! Remember, this is a hoop to jump through - its all about scoring the marks! We can help you do that!
